Who we are
Småland Blekinge Halland South Sweden collaboration between five counties and one university in the southern part of Sweden.
The area is inhabited by more than 1,3 million people, which corresponds to approximately a tenth of Sweden’s population. In the geography you will find midsized cities, towns of different sizes and rural areas. Our region is famous for the strong entrepreneurial spirit with a significant amount of SME’s and several clusters. The manufacturing industry, often rooted in the green economy, plays an important role for our economy, not least since the share of the total export value of Sweden is quite significant.
The university and the clusters have created innovative excellence in several fields, such as marine technology, forest-based products, digitalised information driven health tech, and advanced metal products.
